Casalbordino, the Giant’s farmhouse, tradition and modernity in the town of miracles

Worthy of a film set, amidst the shades of green of the Casalbordino hills, part of the so-called ‘Miracle Municipalities’, due to a whole series of legends and a strong folklore with a fairy-tale character, lies in the small municipality of Abruzzo, immersed in millennia and millennia of history, breathtaking landscapes and more, an old rustic house with a particular eclectic taste brought to life and set in two thousand square metres of fenced-in land, consisting of two floors in an architectural style that is entirely typical and particular to the region.

Living in the Casale del Gigante means preparing for a future of peace and relaxation; the perfect combination of antiquity, modernity in contact with nature and reduced pollution thanks to the almost autonomous photovoltaic system (7.05 kw). Waking up in the morning, seeing the sunrise and wondering: are we having breakfast today in the kitchen or on the large covered porch? 20 km to get to the sea, a short trip during the day to swim, admire what they call ‘Little Normandy’, the characteristic sheer coastline, which looks as if it has been cut in two by a titan. Returning and wondering whether to grill a nice steak al fresco or enjoy a fry-up of freshly caught fish with a refreshing local white wine.

Walking barefoot in the garden, smelling the flowers. Toasting with friends, holding hands with your sweetheart. Admiring the sunset from the huge living room windows and lingering late into the music lounge. Here’s the night on the first floor the 4 rooms can accommodate friends and family and for us, a relaxing soak in the Victorian bathtub in the master bedroom.

But if the large spaces are already not enough, or you want tourists to also enjoy and find their own locus amenus here are two small flats that can be new living spaces or a small B&B business.

We are in paradise, in an all-round place that lacks nothing, in which to retreat and return to the picture. Meditative and cosy at the same time, it appears to be the perfect place to live for those with a taste for beauty, for privacy, for those who enjoy spending time with friends, relatives and family where they can recharge their batteries.

It can’t be a coincidence that an artist, member of the in Italy very popular and successful band “I Giganti”, of all places, has selected this one: a place to stay open-mouthed, a place to daydream, a place where our hearts melt and we can finally breathe a big sigh of relief.
