Montefeltro, it is difficult to explain how this area still retains the charm of yesteryear, “an unusual succession of cultivated fields, woods and whole landscapes, villages and well-preserved city.”
In this magical place, in the small hamlet of Sassocorvaro, San Donato in Taviglione, a small local jewel brought reopened to new splendor after a thorough and careful refurbishing work.
Surrounded by nearly 6,000 square meters of private land degrading towards the valley, the house is built on two levels for a total of 130 sq.m. The renovation has preserved and at the same time enhanced the typical local architecture, using, where possible, original materials and integrating them, where necessary, with extensive use of stone and wood.
The main entrance is from the first floor porch, 16 square meters of covered space to relax and read a good book in the quiet of the surrounding countryside. The entrance leads directly into the large living room, a large regular-shaped space where the dark wood roof contrasts with the white of infill between beams.
The environment is very warm and cozy, at times, the walls are made of exposed stone and every detail is attended in particular with the wise use of wood, dominant material throughout the house. On the first floor are located two of the three bedrooms, a double and single. then the main bathroom with the particularity of the bathtub lined with wood.
We go now to the ground floor through the staircase that leads from the living room on the lower level; Here we find the kitchen and the large dining room where, through the glass door you come out on the porch of the house, basically a addition room where to eat or lie down in the shade during the hot summer days. Always on the ground floor, there is the third room of the house, also this one with exit to the garden and the private bathroom with shower.
The restructuring was followed directly by the current owners, who. have placed particular emphasis on attention to detail, both aesthetic, and the choice of high quality materials, without losing sight of the living comfort and the energy savings. The house is in fact equipped with air conditioning system, heating with pellet stove, fireplace and photovoltaic system for the production of electrical energy.
Also outside the house there is attention to detail, the porphyry driveway, the restored ancient well, the canopy covering the parking space, the wooden house for the tool shed are important elements that further enhance the properties.
